Buy fresh coffee weekly, if possible.
Store in a cool, dry place in an airtight container.
Grind just prior to brewing to ensure freshness.
The shorter the brew time, the finer the grind!
When brewing, use fresh, cold water; using tap water may pass on a distasteful flavor in coffee. As a starting point, use 2 level tablespoons per 6 ounces of water and adjust the amount to suit your preferences.
If you use a French press coffeemaker, bring the water to just short of a boil.
Keep brew time to 4-5 minutes.
Avoid leaving coffee on a burner for any length of time, or the coffee will take on a burnt, charred flavor.
Once you have finished brewing, don't forget to clean your brewer! If kept clean, it will last longer and produce a sweeter tasting coffee.
